FC Irvine Development Academy starts March 1, 2009.
Rob Rennie a top developer of youth soccer talent will head our academy with the assistance of many of our other very talented coaches. This is a year around program that seeks to build both the passion and skill of players aged 6 to 18. Participants should expect to see a meaningful improvement in skill level. The development academy program is completely seperate from our club teams. We encourage Academy members to play in AYSO, Grass Roots, Indoor, our FC Irvine club teams or for another club whatever league best fits. Our objective is to make all soccer players better. Again there is no conflict in participating in our academy and any other soccer program. The academy should help take your son or daughter to the next level. For more information on the academy please click the "Training" tab above FC Irvine Development Academy, or e-mail camps@fcirvine.com or call 714-290-6888.

Two Former National Team Players on FC Irvine Staff
If you are looking for quality training look no farther than FC Irvine. We now have the good fortune of having 2 former National team stars involved with the quality training and coaching we are seeking to provide. Leo Percovich played for both the Venezuelan Youth and Full National team Leo Percovich Bio. Carlos Llamosa played 29 times for the US National team and along the way won 2 MLS Cups see Carlos Llamosa Bio, effective January 2009 Carlos has been named the new Chivas USA assistant coach. Carlos will continue to coach two FC Irvine teams in 2009. While we are discussing National team players in the past and part of what has shaped up is our past involvement with former US National team player Preki (the 2008 MLS head coach of the year), who both coached and trained FC Irvine teams from 2006 to 2008. We were also fortunate to have had Suk Won (Peter) Kim a Korean National team star coach with us in both 2007 and 2008.
Passionate about Soccer
The more you are exposed to FC Irvine, we hope you will see that we are passionate about the game and put a lot of energy into trying to provide outstanding training and coaching. We feel that we can only really control the development of our players and if we do that well then the results should speak for themselves. With that in mind we are really pleased with the Fall 2007 CSL season, as a club we tied ISC Strikers with a 131% win to loss ratio, this far surpasses the other two Irvine based clubs who both have win to loss ratios below 100%. So if you and your family are passionate about the game consider being a part of FC Irvine.
Please welcome our newest coaches; Andy Prickett, Rob Rennie and Milan Stevanovic!
All three of these FC Irvine coaches bring a lot of credibility and experience to our program and to the players we are developing. Andy has played for 20+ years and kids love his positive coaching style. Rob has plied his trade with several other top Orange County clubs, most recently he has coached the # 1 ranked GU14 team in the country. Rob believes he will teach your son or daughter to love the game even more than they may have before. Players of any age can benefit from working directly with Rob, you do not need to play for FC Irvine, for more information on how your child can benefit click here Player Development Program/Academy. Milan has 20+ years experience as a professional player, coach and club director. Both of his children are top level players, his eldest son left the Surf U17 Academy team to be part of our great program.

Looking for Corporate Sponsors
We are a 501c3 non profit corporation that is looking for Corporate Sponsors that want to affiliate themselves with a growing soccer club that is focused in trying to be the top developmental program and club in Orange County. If your company is a fit, we will include your branding and links on our website for a very reasonable rate. Depending on the level of commitment we may also reward your company in other ways, including potentially sponsoring our Fc Irvine Showcase tournament that this year already includes teams from four countries outside of US. So if reaching out to the local community with a program like ours, that focuses on quality and youth development is a fit for your company then please contact our President at president@fcirvine.com or call Phil at 714-290-6888 and thanks for your support!
FC Irvine teams have the best winning percentage of all four Irvine clubs!
After the first 4 weeks of league, FC Irvine teams have a better win loss ratio than even the most established club in Irvine. I think this is notable in that it shows that FC Irvine is bringing quality training to it's teams. As a three year old club we consider ourselves to be very developmental. We can control the quality of our training and the results should speak for themselves. In the future we hope to attract the best young athletes and we will mold them into champions. We will also continue to offer year around skill training to benefit our club players and serious non club players looking for an edge.
Two FC Irvine teams win brackets and five will advance to higher brackets in the 2008-2009 season!
BU13 FC Irvine wins Bronze South with just 1 loss and no ties and will automatically be promoted to BU14 Silver. BU15 Matrix finishes 2nd in Silver South and will move up to BU16 Silver Elite. BU15 Green Tigers win Bronze South and will be BU16 Silver South next year. BU15 Blitz finish high enough for promotion to BU16 Silver FC Irvine BU17 finishes 2nd in Silver South and will be promoted to BU18 Silver Elite South next year.

In Loving Memory
A dear family friend Galen Gibbs died Saturday May 27, 2006 of an apparent drug overdose. Galen was just 17 years old. If Galen was here today I think he would agree when I say that, "Drugs don't bring happiness and if you need help don't wait ask for it." After car accidents drug overdoses are the second most common cause of accidental death. Drug abuse is usually a symptom of some pain that users self medicate with drug use. Unfortunately the drug use does not solve problems, it only makes them worse. If someone you know has a drug abuse problem don't ignore the problem, reach out for help before it is to late. Solve the problem, find out what the cause of pain is and get that fixed. Be a part of something really positive and make a better life for yourself and those around you! Galen was probably like thousands of other great kids in Irvine, innocent, nice, funny, athletic and creative. He was the last kid you would have thought would use drugs, but in the end he started using them and in less than one year it took away his life. I pray that he did not die in vain. Remind your kids that drugs will not bring them joy, it will not solve problems, or fix insecurities, drugs are powerful and can be very dangerous. Drug addiction takes away the joy of life and drug abuse in general brings nothing but pain. Regular drug use ultimately leads to a life of lies and misery. Drugs take away friends, drugs take away fun and in the end drugs can take away life. Have your children take a moment to read this. Let them know that there are cures for the pain that typically cause drug abuse. Help them to make the right choice. It is not just as simple as having will power and saying no to drugs. They need to know why to say no to drugs and where to go if they are having a problem with drugs. May Galen rest in peace.
